Yvette d'Entremont

Taken from website

Born and raised in the Acadian region of Pubnico, Nova Scotia, Canada, this bilingual singer-songwriter or "chanteuse" sings a rich blend of traditional and contemporary Acadian songs, with hints of soft jazz favourites and adult contemporary. All her songs, whether French or English, have a common thread: they are linked by a simple melody, classy and sweet. Yvette has two CD's to her credit: her debut, self-titled CD (released in 2003), and "Mes deux souliers" (released in 2004). Both have received high acclaim from key music industry personel, including a great deal of airplay across the country (Canada) and in Lousianna. She has been featured on various radio and national TV programs, has performed across the Maritime provinces and in France, songwriter's circles, festivals and other special events. Highlights include two Nova Scotia Music Industry Award nominations (2003 and 2005) for Francophone Artist of the Year, an East Coast Music Award nomination in 2006, tours and concerts with the Maritime Forces Atlantic Stadacona Band, and performances with Symphony Nova Scotia (2003 and 2004). Yvette has also won the prestigious francophone contest "Gala de la chanson de la Nouvelle-Écosse in the singer-songwriter category and has been featured on several compilation CD's. Since October 2006, her music is now available through the USA-based distribution company, "Panda Digital" in the World Music category. Yvette is also a full-time French and drama teacher, and writes, produces and directs high school plays/musicals. In February 2007, Yvette released two brand new singles, "Rêver", and "M'aimes-tu?" (a duet featuring 15 year-old singing sensation René Madden) both from her most recent production, "Jean et Juan".
